Strategic Planning Committee for Innovation in Technology and Information

Background:

No segment of society has a faster pace of change than the fields of technology and information.  Advances in technology and information will have a profound effect on the learning and research environment at Wake Forest University.  In order to ensure success, we need to determine how to inform and equip our faculty, staff and students to take best advantage of technology and information as they continue to evolve.

Charge:

Investigate the importance of future advances in the field of technology and information and develop a plan to enable Wake Forest to take best advantage of them.  Consider these questions:

Timetable:

Organizational meeting in Nov-Dec 2008 with work to begin early in Spring Semester 2009.  Final report due December 2009.

Deliveries:

  1. Environmental scan looking 10 years into the future;

  2. Action plan connecting the projected environment to academics at Wake Forest including a list of recommended steps.
