On November 4, 2009, Wake Forest University recognized its endowed chairs and professors at an annual dinner held at Graylyn International Conference Center. Endowed professorships are a longstanding tradition at Wake Forest and are reserved for faculty members with the highest record of academic excellence, both in their scholarship and in the classroom. This year’s event was especially exciting as Professor Simeon Ilesanmi was recognized as the new Washington M. Wingate Professor of Religion.
President Nathan Hatch and Provost Jill Tiefenthaler spoke at the event, and Professor Ilesanmi delivered a talk on his research of human rights in Africa. A transcript of his talk is available, as is additional information about Professor Ilesanmi’s recent appointment. Please see below for pictures from the event.
