Thank you for visiting the website of the Office of the Provost at Wake Forest University. We hope you find the information on these pages useful as you learn more about our outstanding faculty, students and academic programs.
As chief academic officer, it is my responsibility—and my pleasure—to focus on academic excellence throughout the University. In collaboration with President Hatch, deans, department chairs, faculty, trustees and others across the campus, the Provost’s Office works actively to support the deans as they strengthen the schools. The office guides efforts to integrate the academic elements across campus and helps to increase Wake Forest’s overall excellence and distinction.
We also work with many others to build a strong and vibrant academic community. For students, we have added significant new dollars for financial aid, expanded our student base—and consciousness—with innovative diversity initiatives and revamped the admissions process.
Our move to make the SAT and other standardized tests optional for prospective undergraduates has received national recognition and attracted many more deserving students to Wake Forest. In addition, we have made a deeper investment in capital improvements to enhance both academic units and student facilities.
While many people across campus contribute to such changes, my office takes a lead role in putting ideas like these into action. The results speak for themselves. Today Wake Forest is composed of thriving academic programs that attract the best students and scholars to one of this nation’s most dynamic, engaged communities in higher education. We invite you to explore our website to learn more.
With warm regards,
Provost and Professor of Economics
