Bio
Jason Oppel serves as Director of Technology and Space Management in the Office of the Provost. In this role, he provides leadership for technology planning, academic space systems, operational applications, and cross-functional projects that support the University’s academic mission. His work focuses on strengthening the systems, processes, and partnerships that help academic and administrative units manage space, faculty affairs, accessibility services, event operations, and institutional data.
Jason oversees key academic platforms used across the University, including the University Reservation System, EMS, Interfolio, AIM accessibility systems, Workday integrations, and related applications. He serves as a technical lead and project manager for system implementations, vendor coordination, data governance, troubleshooting, and process improvement across Provost-area departments.
Jason chairs the EMS Advisory Team and represents the Provost’s Office on groups focused on space scheduling, classroom assignments, system integrations, campus event processes, and university policy related to events. He works closely with academic departments, the University Registrar, Campus Life, Athletics, Information Systems, Advancement, Facilities, and campus event partners to improve academic systems and campus processes.
Jason also oversees Brendle Recital Hall and technical event services in Wait Chapel, including venue operations, staffing, budget planning, and long-term facility improvements.
