NEW: The University Fund for Cross-School Inquiry and Learning

The Provost’s Office has launched a new faculty funding opportunity to advance academic excellence in alignment with the Strategic Framework. The fund supports working collaboratively, across disciplines, to develop academic initiatives or programs that stimulate teaching and scholarship and offers up to $15,000 for innovative, cross-school projects.

Amy Swearer and Duke’s Andrew Willinger will debate gun control policies in the United States, specifically, assault weapon bans, whether there is an originalist perspective on gun control and potential gun manufacturer liability.

Artist Willa Wasserman, whose work was acquired during the 2024 Student Art Buying Trip, will talk with Jane Alexander, a student who participated in the buying trip, about her insights into “trans art,” her own artwork and process and more. Reception to follow.

Join the Disability Studies Initiative for a conversation with WFU’s very own Team USA Track & Field athlete, Samantha Heyison, about her experience at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris.

The music department is presenting its annual fall concert for Gamelan Giri Murti Balinese Ensemble and the WFU Chinese Ensemble.

Please Note: President Wente’s Annual Presidential Address will take place on Thursday, November 14 at 4:00 p.m. in Brendle Recital Hall. A light reception to follow.
