Dr. J. Kline Harrison is the Vice Provost for Global Affairs and the Kemper Professor of Business at Wake Forest University. As Vice Provost, he oversees the Center for Global Programs and Studies (GPS), the Center for Immigration Services and Support (ISS) and the Center for Research on Abroad and International Student Engagement (RAISE). In addition, he is responsible for academic minors with a global focus, oversight of the University’s international properties and leases, and global informational and funding resources for students, faculty, and staff. 

Prior to assuming his current role, Kline was an associate dean in the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy at the University. He received his undergraduate degree in organizational management from the University of Virginia and his doctorate from the University in Maryland in organizational behavior. His dissertation examined the comparative effects of training methods in preparing managers for cross-cultural assignments. He is a Certified Professional in the field of education abroad and has served as a Trained Facilitator and Certification Assessor for the Forum on Education Abroad. 

As a researcher, Kline has examined various aspects of international human resource management as well as personality and situational variables impacting students’ study abroad experiences. His most recent manuscript focuses on mapping the knowledge base of abroad student engagement.
