New Faculty Orientation

Dear New Faculty Member,

Welcome to Wake Forest! We’re delighted you’re joining our thriving community of teacher-scholars during a propitious time here on campus. We are confident that your arrival will help us make this great institution even stronger and appreciate your time in advance for reading this email in its entirety.

I write to inform you of our New Faculty Orientation (NFO) program, scheduled for August 14-16, 2019. The Provost’s Office hosts all new faculty, from all schools, on August 14 and 15 while individual schools will host their own orientations on August 16. Please note that due to the nature of your appointment, attending the Provost’s Office portion of NFO is optional for you (this does not include your school-specific orientations–you are still expected to attend those sessions unless you’ve been told otherwise).

We would love to see you on August 14 and 15, however, and promise an engaging time with the university and your new colleagues learning about Wake Forest, its community, and our students. A detailed schedule for the first two days of orientation is attached; information about your school-specific orientation will be forthcoming. Finally, we also ask all new faculty to attend “We Anticipated You: Enhancing Inclusion and Equity in the Classroom, ” a means of enhancing inclusion and engagement across our entire constituency.

A detailed version of the agenda may be found here.

Any questions as they relate to New Faculty Orientation may be directed to Sam Perrotta Turner at We look forward to meeting you!

Warmest regards,

Rogan Kersh
